When my children were growing up, I embarked on a Bachelor of Education degree. This entailed studying every thing from physiology to maths, English to art in many forms. Sculpture, ceramics, painting, collage, printing etc, which resulted in me becoming a bit of a jack of all trades. For 15 years I taught at a secondary boys school.
My education has made me a bit if an experimenter and my preference is to run with an idea and see where I can go. It is the journey, which is the most interesting for me; trying an idea in different ways.
At present though, I am mainly obsessed by trees, which seem to have many facets to them. There is colour, pattern texture, structure, perspective and atmosphere.
One day I would really like to be braver and venture into abstract painting.
